Maybe they DO know what they're missing.
Beside all of the time constraints that ANY child will place on a person, there are other issues that such a man, if he's realistic, will be facing if he enters into a relationship with such a woman, intending to make it long term.
People have widely varying views, for instance, on child-rearing practices.
What should be allowed?
What sort of punishments should be used?
Don't forget that just because a woman won't allow her second love interest to discipline her children that it doesn't mean he won't have to put up with their antics and bad behaviour.
Talk about having your hands tied!
Often enough, even in first marriages, Mommy always allows the kids to come between herself and Daddy.
