New Earth Creationist, or Old Earth?
Personally, i'm New Earth. I say 7,000 years max (and that's not even as on the dot as some N.E.C's are)

What makes you believe that Earth has only been around for 7,000 years max?

New Earth
by chris-tian on February 25th, 2009
i believe it only about 6000 years old myself
i believe that is only 6000 years old by adding up the dates in the bible about the ages of the people

So do you have absolutely no education in science or you just choose to ignore it?
by Aquatic Eagle on February 26th, 2009
The reason I believe in New Earth Creationism, is rather simple, & I don't reject Old Earth.. It's just that I take on this literal translation of the Bible, Jewish Literature and all.
For me? Why? It just makes God seem all the more puissant, Holy & powerful. The whole old earth thing makes me feel like, eh, God could do better. But I don't know that for a fact. Noone does. Surely, He could have spent the eons of years that Carbon dating points to accomplish creation.
It's just the personal stance I take, because it's what I chose to believe based on the family records in the Bible, bloodlines, etc. From all the diverse conversations i've had in this topic, I find it to be true that we're all not in disagreement about it, the point is believing in the Holy design. Check out the Christian Research Institute sometime.
I actually do have a strong scientific base; I'm working on my PhD (my dissertation) in Bacterial Chemotaxy right now. I've got degrees in Chemistry & Microbiology.

It doesn't matter how scientifically qualified you are if you choose to ignore the science.

How can you believe that EVERYTHING got made out of NOTHING???
(the big bang)
by chris-tian on August 2nd, 2009
I don't believe that everything was made out of nothing first of all and the Big Bang theory doesn't state that either. Please learn a little about what you are trying to disqualify BEFORE joining the debate.
