Help answer this question below.
I'll try to get back to you on this (though I am not the best person to answer this). Just a question, what do you mean when you ask "What is KNOWN of Muhammed"? do you mean his reputation? Accepted history? known of him before he became a prophet or after he became a prophet? etc... can you clarify that part of the question?

You're reading Is Muhhamed's claim to be a descendant of Abraham through son Ishamael able to be traced , lineage? what is KNOWN of Muhammed....?and if he could not write, who did? just asking..
Comments
just that they claim he came from Ishmael...is his lineage in the Koran? written down the way the Bible preserved these? the Koran knew of Jesus but the Bible never mentioned Mohammed or Ishmaels lineage..is Mohammed traceable? that is all...thanks

(If lineage means ancestry tree of ALL men parents), No prophet's lineage (to the best of my knowledge) is mentioned in the Koran. When the Koran mentions prophets, it tends to mention (&/or correct) history of what occured and the the morals behind what occured & what should be learned from history (i.e. using history as the example) as well as give future warnings of what will happen in the future (the future becomes the present then the past once the relevant time is crossed).

When the Koran mentions Jesus(PBUH) it tends to go about stating he is not the son of god (or god himself) nor was he crucified and stating that he was born from a woman who was a virgin and that he was not part of god (i.e. trinity). So whether you accept the Koran talks about the same person that the bible talks about? (Islam says yes and makes corrections, Christianity & Judaism -generally- say no). The bible will not mention Mohammed as Mohammed was born after the Bible and (I think) the lineage that the bible does not mention, is one of. the differences in beliefs in the religion (Christianity/Jew belive Ibrahim had 1 wife and 1 son, where as Islam & koran says Ibrahim had 2 wifes each with one son -the lineage coming out of wife that is not aknowledged by jews-)

in my reasoning, the Bible after Jesus crucifixion, told of no future prophets, no longer needed, only WARNINGS were of all the FALSE PROPHETS that would come....and these oppositions or corrections denies God's Word even back to the OT....
they tell me all the time , we have the same God....NO, we do not...
i thank you for taking the time..

If your bible claims no future prophets, then you should not be waiting for the return of Jesus(PBUH) ;)
Though I dont remember which book. if I remember right, one of your books (though I dont remember if it is in Old Testament) your book(s) told of 1 more prophet called Ahmed!
That is the one of the major differences between Islam and your religion: Islam says God would not allow one of his prophets to be killed by evil people and that he would intervene your religion seems to imply that he doesnt care ;)
Anyway, since you were trying to create a trick question and wasnt seriously wanting to know Mohammed's lineage, looks like I wont need to look it up for you (because I should have relevant book)!

Forgot to say: ragarding your comment that muslims say "we have the same God", that depends on which Christianity? Christianity that believes that Jesus is God? Christianity that believes that Jesus is the son of God? Christianity that believes that Jesus is a messenger of God? Obviously: Muslims cannot say, 'we believe in the same god as you' because different Christians believe in different god(s).

JESUS DID WARN OF FALSE PROPHETS AFTER HIM A/K/A MUHAMMED....AND WHAT DOES WAITING FOR PROPHETS HAVE TO DO WITH WAITING FOR JESUS..JESUS WS NOT A PROPHET..HE WAS THE EARTHLY MANIFESTATION OF GOD...AMEN..AND YOUR IDEA OF JESUS IS WARPED..THERE IS ONLY ONE JESUS..MUSLIMS LIKE TO PLAY WITH SCRIPTURE...BUT THE BIBLE WARNED US OF YOU AND YOUR FALSE PROPHET...REPENT
