What age does your metabolism really slow down?

    It depends on how physically active you are, your own genes (I was cursed with my mother's fat genes), and how contented you are (yes, depression can make you gain weight, whether or not you're the type who eats a lot). Age is only secondary, althoug the generality is between the ages of 30 and 35 for men, 25 and 32 for women (provided she hasn't have babies before then; chilldbearing reduces BMR too). I was hit with it after I turned 27. But I was one of those girls who had boobs when they were 10.

      I don't think this is right. Mens would also start to slow down at age 25-30 not 30-35, generally every human does at that age, usually nobodies metabolism starts slowing down at age 30 and after.
      I don't think childbirth has anything to do with it either really.
