You're reading If you are against the restraints of a 'Nazi Regime' in America, how can you tell me that I cannot own certain types of firearms?

A good quote from Jefferson. I do not doubt that the founding fathers knew what may come. They saw tyranny once and knew it could come again. Though now with those that are acting like it couldn't happen in America there are bans on any possibility of defending myself or others from it.
It is my right to defend myself and I should be able to do so as I see fit in a manner that is governed by the original Constitution. There are idiots out there that are trying to say that the Constitution is outdated and no longer valid. These idiots need to wake up. Tyranny is alive and well and is waiting till nobody can fight against it.
So when it comes to it, you ban all means of defense and when someone comes to harm you, what are you going to do? You will be crushed as you crushed the only document that gave you freedom to fight.

Once again I think it gets complicated. The government now controls weapons that you could never stand a chance against. I think the bans are attempting to stifle a problem that has the potential to spiral needlessly out of control with weapons. Unfortunately, banning weapons doesn't mean that they are impossible to get. However, if some of the guns that are made were available to everyone who wanted one we would see huge increases in violence and the general public would feel unsafe. I think the government is TRYING to avoid that, but honestly, they are failing miserably.

The government is banning weapons because of friggin' morons that think if there are no guns, criminals will not hurt you. Criminals will hurt you if all they have is a spoon. There is no basis of fact to even point that any banning works to decrease crime. If a criminal thought you had a firearm in your house, do you think they would try and come in? I don't. I think that they would just go down the street to where they know there are no firearms. How can they tell? The simple elect Hillary sign in the front yard is proof enough.

I agree with you thinking that the notion of criminals being powerless without guns is utter bullshit. Here in Australia, where Prime Minister John Howard ordered the disarmament of the civilian population after Martin Bryant went nutso in Port Arthur, crime in the city is just as bad as ever. Except that most of the lackey-type criminals and petty criminals use knives, swords, axes, picks, whatever they can get - even a good kitchen knife or dirty syringe would do them. And it doesn't stop the more powerful criminals from getting firearms off the black market either. And as far as I'm aware there's no justifiable homicide clause in Australian law so you go to jail just because you had to save your own skin from a knife nut (well, there is a loophole if it's equal force to the attacker, but that's not worth mentioning).
