We have been told that the Fire Department can not legally charge you to fill your pool ( however you can give them a donation). Is this true?

I would imagine that this is a sales ploy. Besides, who would be 'entitled' to free water? You can do it yourself and depending on the size of your pool it would take 3 days and cost you an additional $100-$150 on your water bill. I have heard that if you live in a rural area and pay your volunteer fire department a yearly membership fee, that they will come fill your pool for free, but they don't have to. Obviously if we are having a drought, they won't. But I personally would never expect something for nothing.

    • We do live in a rural area, and no we would not expect them to do it for free. I was just really disturbed that the sales person told us this and wondered if others had heard the same thing. Thanks for answering +6
