What is a "power chord", and how do I play one?

    For clarification, the 3rd note of a chord is what determines whether it is a major or minor chord. Power chords, which as stated above omit the 3rd, are "ambiguous" in that they are neither major nor minor. This focuses attention on the root note of the "chord".
