Help answer this question below.

After sexual intercourse, why does the penis of a male dog get stuck up the vagina of a bitch? Why doesn't it happen in humans?

    That is called a tie. This keeps another male from breeding with the female, which is helpful in the breeding of full breed dogs.

    • Although it IS referred to as a Tie, the process will NOT prevent another male from Breeding with the Female at all. In cases where dogs are breeding without human assistance and "permission," it is not uncommon for the first male to finish, and if there are other males "waiting" and the bitch is willing, two or three could and have also mounted and bred, resulting in the bitch carrying offspring from several different males in ONE LITTER.
