The previous answer is excellent but there is another thing you can do.
Good shoes with good support will not only improve balance but will lessen
the added stress your body is coping with as it tries to maintain proper balance.
If the loss of balance results from nerve damage and/or muscle weakness, keeping fit
is important but overlooking the role of a good shoe will add to an already bad situation.
This means never wearing sandals or cheap shoes, rather a shoe that gives support to the ankle area. Invest in one or two pair of very good shoes and you will see a huge difference in balance.
There are so many brand names out there to choose from. You will immediately feel a difference if good shoes are part of your daily routine for balance improvement.
I speak from experience on this one :)
