Why do cars have two headlights instead of one big one?

    • oh,...one long one would be cool,...definitely. The way I took the question was if the just had one big one in the middle. sorry. lol

    • Yes the peripherial area is lighted better and oncoming cars are able to see where your vehicle is. Also, if one burns out, you still have one to use until the burnt out one can be replaced.

    • Fyrefish....the mercury sables for the late 80' had a light acroos the front that basically connected the two and gave the impression of one big headlight across the whole front of the car
