Given the health risks, why do women get breast implants?

    Not all women get implants because they want more attention from men. In fact, many (if not most) women get them first and foremost for themselves. For women with very small chests, looking in the mirror (especially naked) can make them feel like they are less than a woman. Some women are even mistaken for men because they have such boyish figures! Plus, most nicer clothes are made for women with at least a little bit of cleavage. That means that those women can't wear (or at least don't look as good in) many styles of shirts and dresses because they don't fit around their chests well. Sometimes the cloth is just baggy, but in other outfits it leaves a gap down which her chest is visible. Very embarrassing! And bathing suits? Plenty of women are already uncomfortable wearing them without having to feel like their shortcomings are on display. And while clothing might seem a superficial concern, remember, clothes make the (wo)man. They influence how we see ourselves - as well as how the world sees, and treats us.

    Of course, it's no wonder that women with very small chests are also nervous about what guys will think of them if they see them naked. And a lot of guys are very vocal about wanting a woman with sizeable breasts (or at least, "a handful for each hand"). And since many smaller chested women wear padded bras to make them look a bit larger, some might worry that their guy will be unhappily surprised the first time he sees them completely bare.

    • well done anon thats exactly the reason i had mine done!! celestsia, thats rubbish i still only wanted my bf, i got mine done for ME not for anybody else so your way off. wht5hedvl yes that is true :) redjohn i sort of agree there some women are like that, others do it because they follow the crowd but mostly women get them to feel feminine.

    • Personally I believe it's the stupidest idea, I am a guy and I can honestly say I find smaller breasts to be alot more attractive. The breast size of a woman is porportional to her body, meaning if she's got a cute in shape body, she probably will not have the largest breasts. If a woman has more fat on her gut she will probably have larger breasts. I see all these cute girls with small sexy breasts wanting to get implants and I think what the hell....why? I mean look at Shakira she has small breasts yet they make her and her body look beautiful.

    • shakira has bigger breasts than most small breasted women, mine were a 32aa so training ba size, you may see implants as a 'stupid' idea but know that most women take much consideration into account before going down that path. you just don't seem to understand. I find small breasted women attractive but wouldn't comment either way if they wanted to change their bodies.
