Why do most people hate hip-hop/rap music?

• I think that is one of the problems, most people just hear what's on the radio and they use it to judge the music as a whole without hearing any of the good music.

• Are you agreeing or disagreeing? When I say that there is something wrong with the audience, I mean that the music is a reflection of what the audience wants. These days it's supply and demand for music and the people want dumbed down music. It is a self-perpetuating cycle.

• I'm agreeing. I think people want to hear more fantastical music, that describe things that they themselves only day dream about, like having lots girls and wealth. However, not all of the music is like that.

• I agree 100%. Most people who hate hip hop know nothing about real hip hop, how it began, or any of that. Just the losers on the radio... Shame. I like a wide variety, including hip hop.

• I can't stand when that garbage is even CALLED hip hop. It's far from it. It's pop. I know hip hop.
