I don't talk from any experience but I've heard its bad for their teeth. Therefore I would say at teething.

    • Makes sense, but did you know that an infant's use of a pacifier can actually deform the bones of the jaw and cause the teeth to come in crooked even if you take the pacifier away before teething? They also say that letting your child fall asleep with a bottle in it's mouth can cause the same kind of deformity.

    • No, I didn't. Maybe thats why I have such straight teeth - I went straight from breast to drinking from a glass. You learn a new thing every day!

    • I never had a pacifier and didn't need braces. It's usually the kids who've had them past 3 or so who get the crooked teeth.
