I live in TX, am unemployed & my soon-to-be ex(11yrs) is employed. I WAS the breadwinner & paid for her school & I'm letting her keep the house (we have a son). her IRA is 3x the amt of my 401k. will i have to pay maintenance if she is worth more than me?

Not if you hire a good lawyer.

If you don't then HER lawyer will see to it that she get far, far more than you would dream she deserves.
