You're reading Is the new Tata car from India(about $2500 US) going to be sold internationally or is there regulations barring this affordable, and adorable car?
Comments
These are the countries that now sell it,which are in this site.I hope they are allowed in north america, for we are getting ripped off with overpriced cars.Tata has proven the cost of cars can be affordable.http://www.tatacarsworldwide.com/global-presence/index.asp

Agreed. Somehow, even if it does find its way here, I doubt it'll be as affordable as it is elsewhere. It'll probably end up in the $10-15k range.

That is the problem, unfair markup prices on cars.If the regulations are in place to allow a vehicle into a country sometimes one can import a car on their own.I have done it once and saved many thousands of dollars.Dealers are not the only way to buy a car.

This is true. Of course, I'm not sure this particular model would meet US safety standards... Though the Smart Car does, so I can't see that many changes would have to be made...

That makes sense.
