Should the international fashion industry adopt universal standards regarding the health and size of fashion models?

    No. Like everything else, these things go in trends. We're already seeing the start of a backlash against ultra-skinny, "heroine chic" models.

    Also, the fashion industry isn't out to create a moral environment. They create fashion. We should let them do what they do best. Leave health to the professionals who do that. If someone has a low self-image and strives to mimic super-skinny models, it's not the model's fault or the designer's. The problem is much deeper than that and deserves individual attention, not a ineffective blanket "solution".

    • Thanks. I don't think it's healthy for the models or people trying to look like them, but trying to adopt a standard "healthy size" requirement would be like putting a Band Aid on an amputation.
