Unless you live in an area that will help out small farmers...your best bet is to contract grow for a company. You provide the building and the manpower...they provide the animals, meds, feed , etc...and then they will pick them up when they're old enough, big enough to go to market. Independent hog farmers are few and far between these days since the industry is over run with large hog companies...ex; Smithfield and Joe Luter...if I'm not mistaken, he is the 2nd or 3rd largest producer in the world...and he owns the packing plants as well.
