    When I was young I was basically shy, and so adopted this party-girl persona (with the aid of copious amounts of alcohol) in order to appear vivacious and attractive to my peer group.
    Now I'm approaching 60 and I've learned that it's OK to be a dag. I hate social gatherings, I enjoy solitude, I do the best I can by my community but I don't feel I have to live up to anyone else's expectations any more. I have learned to say No.
