How should I protect my computer from lightning strikes?

    Look for a powerstrip that promises to protect against "spikes," not just surges. Lightning surging through your house's wiring moves way too fast for a normal surge suppressor to shut off in time. These are not cheap, but if you are concerned about your electronics, it could be well worth the extra cash.
