You're reading The area around my belly piercing is red. No discharge. Its all crusty around the edge of the hole...Infection? If so, what can I do to get rid of it without taking my belly ring out? Could this be rejection?Live 100 miles outta town a

ok well i've been cleaning it twice daily with sea salt solution. i just got it pierced a week ago. another thing i've noticed about it is when i just get done cleaning it, it moves without anything pushing it. it will move down freely...im really scared and don't want to take it out! help!

If it is infected, DO NOT take it out. This will only create an abscess. Do not use antibacterial ointment (Neosporin or the like) as it specifically says it is not intended for "puncture wounds" (like piercings). If you are really concerned, call your piercer.
Be careful with the sea salt soaks. Follow your piercer's advice for amount of salt per gallon of DISTILLED water.
If the swelling has gone down and it's moving too much, the ring may be too long. You might want to secure the top ring (away from the piercing holes, and making sure there's no pressure on them) until your piercer can put in a smaller one. Excessive motion and pressure are the leading causes of rejection.
