Help answer this question below.

When Robbie, Ray and Rachel are in the basement they have to hide behind a mirror which they have to hold. How is it that when the alien spots them they can hide and the mirror is perfect standing by itself?

    Well actually it was Ray, Rachel and Ogilvy (played by Tim Robbins) in the basement but that's beside the point.
    I've seem the film at the cinema twice now and I have to say that I really don't think they were holding the mirror. I'm pretty sure that when Ray put the mirror in place he balanced it against the wooden support (or something similar) to the right of him. I remember that they hid behind the mirror while Ray was holding the top of it, then he slowly moved his hand away. So when the alien heard/saw Rachel's foot slip, they could hide somewhere else without the mirror falling down and alerting the alien of their presence. Hope this helps! :-)
    Great film by the way, everyone should see it!!
