I am willing to bet that most of these people who are refusing to forgive these two women are Christians, and as such, they're being hypocritical, as usual.

They've done their time. They have to live with what they've done. Brainwashing is a powerful thing /*Christians*/andalltheheinouscrimeschristianshavecommitted

.. and perhaps it is time to forgive and move on.

    • Were you alive and living in LA when these crimes were committed?

    • I know all about the Manson family. I also know thousands of murderers get off on under ten years every single day. This is no different, it only shocked more people because some of the people they did this to were famous. It was horrible, but they don't deserve to be punished more than any other murderer. That's unjust.

    • The viciousness of the crime and the butchering of a pregnant person. The two you mention made a horrendous mistake, not once but several times. I'm unaware of another criminal participating in comparable crimes being paroled after 10 years. Enlighten me.

    • I'm aware that they murdered a pregnant woman. Many men murder their pregnant wives. As a matter of fact, that's the number one cause of death when it comes to pregnant women, murder by their own spouses.

In any case, they were brainwashed. If a military man murders a pregnant Iraqi, why does he not go to jail? He's brainwashed, the same as she. He thinks he is doing it for a good cause - the same as she. You don't seem to be getting how powerful brainwashing actually is. They did it because they thought it was what HAD to be done.

Granted, I am not a family member of someone they murdered. If I were, I would feel more emotionally inclined toward the situation, but that is why we have a justice system, and not an 'eye for an eye'.

    • Comparing what Manson and the family did to what a US soldier does during time of war is totally irrational in my view. You and I have totally different points of view and ne'er the twain shall meet. Thanks for your comments.

    • I suppose not, but always remember - to any country we fight, WE are the terrorists.

    • Zombie, I would be interested in seeing the evidence for this " I also know thousands of murderers get off on under ten years every single day" and this "to any country we fight, WE are the terrorists

    • There ARE murderers who get off in under ten years. You can Google it if you like, it happens all the time, and not just in the US.

Secondly, what evidence of that are you expecting me to show you? Open up your eyes. Every country fights for their own reasons, every person fights for their own reasons. America is NO DIFFERENT. To other countries, WE are the invaders. WE are the persecutors, and WE are the terrorists. Most Americans are brainwashed at birth to believe their country stands for all that is true and good in the world, and America can do no wrong. What a load of complete bullshit. This country was founded on "terrorism". Originally we were a British colony. Americans began committing acts of what we would, in this day and age, consider to be terrorism. This country did not belong to the US, there was NO US. It belonged to Britain, mostly. If you don't count the fact that we completely fucked over Native Americans.

    • I was hoping you would have some sort of definitive evidence for your assertions that I could use in the future. Your opinions are valuable as opinions, but I need evidence.

    • A history book? I don't know what you're looking for. This is not an opinion, it's fact.

    • I believe they have received the result of Christianity . . . they have been given life in prison. The State has not taken "an eye or an eye" and these women are still alive even after what they have done. However, there should be no parole consideration at all. This should be life without the possibility of parole. I almost think it's inhumane to keep evaluating them for parole and allowing them to think that one day . . . "maybe."

    • Zombies, a lot of what you are saying is opinion, but I half agree with you, the fact that somone they killed was famous somhow haves this case worse, that doesn't sit right with me.... Your point about brainwashing is one that I agree with...
They thought they were soldiers in a war, they were brainwashed to think such, and if a brainwashed soldier kills a pregnant woman in cold blood (or any person for that matter) thay should be held acccountable.
However, I'm not sure how much their state of mind has changed and the way they did what they did not just what and why needs to be taken into account, and it would possibly be worse for them if they were released anyway... I have to say I am torn

    • They were brainwashed, part of a cult. They committed heinous acts, but imagine if they were forced to do so. Would you still believe they'd have to suffer for the rest of their lives?
