What does it mean to be "vested" in a company?

    Being vested means you have been with them for the alloted amount of time to get your pension when you reach the age of, usually 65 or 66. That is, if you are working at a company that still gives pensions. I think that some companies also pay you when you are out sick after you have worked for them for however many years.
