Do you believe that having an emotional realationship with someone of interest while in a marraige is the same as having and affair?

    yes. ask the person who is being cheated on what they would think. truely a emotional relationship is something you have who a 'significant' other, usually means a committment meant. i don't have a emotional relationship with my friends of over 10 years. i have only had an emotion relationship with someone i am committed to, which leads to being physical. having been cheated on i would feel cheated on by this definately!

    • This answer is two years old, but I can't resist. Marriage should not mean that all realtionships with members of the opposite sex are halted.

      A few women that I know are very close friends. If a wife would demand, or expect, that I should sever relationships after marriage, I would not go through with marriage. This is too much like the proverbial ball and chain. I am also very close to a few male friends-- men who I have known almost for a life time. Would a wife be jealous of them too?

      What about brothers and sisters? Are they to be tossed too?

      Ms.Downunder should re-think her values. In love we give our trust. We do not withhold it.
