Upon ingestion, aspartame breaks down into several residual chemicals, including aspartic acid, phenylalanine, methanol, and further breakdown products including formaldehyde,[12] formic acid, and a diketopiperazine. Anyone care for a diet soda?

    Wow! This is a bit eye-opening. Thanks for the info. Thank god I have been already trying to drink more water instead of soda.
