Help answer this question below.

I moved two painted tetras into a new ten gallon tank with new water. I set up the tank about 5 days ago before putting them in. Should I do anything else?

    You haven't given many details. Did you use dechorinator? Do you have a tank heater and filter system? Have you checked the levels of ammonia, etc?

    A tank should really be set up and run for a few weeks and the water chemistry checked for safety before adding fish.

    Note: Don't buy painted tetras or any other painted or dyed fish. Only 20% of these artifically colored fish survive the process and many more die later from the wounds or infection. If we stop buying them suppliers will no longer have a reason to continue this cruel practice.
