Help answer this question below.
the Milwaukee brace is quite restrictive, while you are in it you will be immobilized from your chin to your hips ,and there may be a pad or two and there also may be some straps to hold you in the proper possition ,in order to correct the curve .It will take you about a week to get used to it ,and after that it will become just another thing to put on after your shower in the morning .If it is fit properly it is actually quite comfortable ,considering what it is and once you get used to it its a breeze to wear .some of your friends will want to try it on for size and to see how it feels ,so let them give it a go ,it wont kill you to be out of it for a few extra minutes one or two days a week and it will show them just what you are going through ,just make sure they don't adjust it at all or it will screw you up in a hurry.I had one for 11 years and I lived through it and now I wear a modified Milwaukee for pain management and it does a great job of removing the pain and I would rather be wearing it than not wearing it so all totaled I have been in a Milwaukee brace for 36 out of my 56 years but I was a special case with a fracture,Kyphosis and scoliosis,my first three years were with a halo Milwaukee brace that could not even come off,you will learn to live with the brace and also how to exist ,.and you will even find that there is a life in a M/B. I wore the first one 23 hrs /day and was out of ti for an hour to shower and right back into it again-if you wear it for the prescribed amount of time it will do the most good ,and in time you will learn how to sit and do all sorts of things .The new brace I got six years ago I wear 10 to 20 hours a day and its not so bad ,just don't fight the brace or you will get sore muscles
