Help answer this question below.

I read in Popular Science that research is being done to anchor cables from Earth to outer space, and having cable climbing Robot lifts to ferry passengers and goods. I checked it wasn't the April 1st issue.Is this feat possible, surely not.

    Yeah, its called a Light Elevator. Its possible in theory, but no one has built it yet. You can read more about it here http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/Space_20Elevator_20Light
