Help answer this question below.

Do you think that Gerald Ford was really in that casket for 6 days fermenting....or was the casket empty and on display for ceremonial purposes and he was buried or cremated some time ago?

    The embalming will prevent fermentation or other decomposition for a long time; there may even be special techniques when a longer funeral process is anticipated. If the body is then kept as cool as possible, then 6 days would not be too long for it to stay presentable.

    I'm not in the funeral business, this is a lay opinion.
