I highly consider myself one of the dreaded "religious types" (sorry, but it just is what is).

But all things considered, my own church (A) doesn't specify how the earth came into being, (B) doesn't tell us what we are supposed to believe about it, (C) encourages us to seek understanding without it becoming dogma, and (D) just plain doesn't make an issue out of the mess.

I think many of us believe God created the heavens and the earth, but also believe we don't have to know how God did it to believe God did it. I personally don't believe humans evolved from other species, but I am also not big on the "literal seven days" idea of creation. But mostly, I just don't worry about it. My salvation doesn't hinge on it.

    • Being one of the dreaded "religious types" myself, I have just about the same answer as you.
