Help answer this question below.
I have been taking 4 Tylenol PM's for close to 3 years now myself. I find I cannot sleep unless I take it or it takes me hours to fall asleep. Naturally I have had to increase my dosage to feel the effects.
Something I have also noticed recetnly is that if I dont get into bed 1 hour after I take it and wait for like 2 hours..I also have a hard time falling asleep.
I need advice on breaking this habit and being able to fall asleep on my own!!
The issue is I am such a night owl and I never want to go to bed before 1 am even when I have to be at work by 7:30! HELP!!!

You're reading I have been taking Tylenol PM for almost three years. Now I can't sleep unless I take it. Is this bad?

You need to see a doctor. Taking too much acetominophen can lead to liver failure. You need something without acetominophen for a sleep aid if you do not want to have something prescribed. Tylenol makes a product that only contains Diphenhydramine HCl which is the ingredient that helps you to fall asleep. It's called Simply Sleep...try that instead, but you should still see a doctor
