Question

Help answer this question below.

Real-life Titanic hero Fr Thomas Byles (portrayed by James Lancaster) was all too brief since he was mostly a background character in the Rose-Jack story. Did anyone else besides me wish that Byles' role in the ship's story had been fleshed out more?

I didn't know that priest was a real guy. I thought they just stuck him in the movie for dramatic effect. So I googled him and found he was going to do his brothers wedding and that's why he was on board. How sad. There's a really good website here www.fatherbyles.com .

    • That is a very good website. I've seen it, and the letters are particularly interesting to read.
