Have you ever analysed your own guilt processes and realized how much easier it is not to cheat on a significant other?

Do you find it weird when a spouse tries to cheat on his/her spouse and then ends up talking to a "fake persona" of his/her spouse online...

You're reading When answering questions involving infidelity many ABers use STDs as the reason that men & women should not have outside relationships. Do people get get married because they think that marriage is the only way to avoid STDs?
Comments
I am pretty active too and have never contracted STDs. As Path says--just use your head. Condoms, look over your partners first.

Some people never seem to comprehend the concept
of probability.

Being careful, sensible, is the way to avoid STDs. Anyone who gets married because he or she fears STDs is just paranoid. That's no reason to get married, nor is it a reason to abstain.

This "marrying because of STDs" claim is completely made up.
You can sleep around both when married and not, so there
is no (direct) influence of marriage on STDs.
.
What I meant by my previous comment was that people seem
to use arguments like "Just because I did that and nothing
happened to me, it means it's safe", or "Just because me and
a couple of other people did that and nothing happened to us,
it means it's safe". But there are people there who won the
negative lottery and got infected/preg., but You won't be
hearing much from them. I don't think anyone is bragging about getting STDs or pregnant by accident with some random person -
and possibly aborting. Not even mentioning that they
will be the minority. But YOU can hit the lottery and
become a part of that minority.
But there's this general belief in people that "what is
bad will never happen to me, it will only happen to
others".

I assume then that you wouldn't consider parachuting, motorcycling, skiing, scuba diving, or any other sport or hobby that is not totally safe. Keep depriving yourself of pleasure and you'll die a bitter "anonymous T."
