I don't know...I can't really sing and I've never really liked it enough anyway to want to do it for eternity. Is there anything else I can do there?

You do with God the spiritual equivalent of what you would do with your human lover. Stare into one another's eyes and enjoy His Presence. It's called the Beatific Vision.

I chose my human lover for many reasons. I think I'll stick with her. I'd rather stare into her eyes for eternity because I do that out of choice, not fear.
by Aquatic Eagle on October 8th, 2009
Couldn't have said it better myself. It IS love that motivates those who choose God. If it's fear, you're thinking about yourself, not Him.

So why do Christians call themselves "God-fearing"?
by Aquatic Eagle on October 8th, 2009
You have to understand 'fear'. If you respect someone, that, too can be considered fear. Would you go to meet the President in your dirty, torn jeans and tee shirt? Not if you respect [fear] him and/or his office.
by LarryH54 on October 8th, 2009
Respect does not equal fear. Respecting the President is NOT the same as fearing him...at least not to me. Can you please explain more thoroughly how fear equals respect?
by Aquatic Eagle on October 8th, 2009
My dictionary includes 'revere' along with all the other scary stuff. It does that because in a religious sense, it IS reverence and respect.
by LarryH54 on October 8th, 2009
Fear can include respect in a sense but respect does not include fear. They are not equal.
by Aquatic Eagle on October 8th, 2009
I don't recall saying they were.

"If you respect someone, that, too can be considered fear"
Does that refresh you?
by Aquatic Eagle on October 9th, 2009
There's an overlap, but they are far from equal. Really, if you are just looking for an argument, take it elsewhere.
by LarryH54 on October 9th, 2009
Arguing? I'm simply pointing something out that you didn't remember. There is no overlap. If respecting someone can mean that you even slightly fear them then that's some messed up respect. I respect people or things because I understand and appreciate them.
by Aquatic Eagle on October 9th, 2009
Also, take it elsewhere? I believe you joined me so if you don't like what I have to say then unsubscribe.

Good idea. Bye.
