Do you find it hard to call an adult male names like Jimmy, Timmy, Tommy, Billy, Sammy?

    It's Very Southern, and I know and love so many southerners that I just accept it for what it is. Johnny Depp hales from Kentucky. I find it strange that in U.S. society, shortening a beautiful female name (Suzanne to Suzie, Kathryn to Kathy, etc.) does not have the same stigma.

    • oh i guess it may be a southern thing. My grandma was from the south and she didn't want to name my dad something where it would be shortened...so she named him Dale...i guess she gave up when she had her second son...Steven, Steve...lol
