Every cell has the same DNA, so theoretically every cell is capable of making the various proteins and other substances found in your body. The reason that cells don't normally do this is that DNA is selectively expressed. But sometimes this regulation goes awry and you end up with tumors that are capable of making just about anything. The clinical name for this type of tumor is a teratoma, from the Greek root "terat" meaning "monster."
