why you did not tell us anything about the Holy Trinity?

    • Oh I love this, even more than the fact that the "holy trinity" was just a bunch of bureacracy some tired bishops at a conference went "meh, okay" to.

    • God introduced himself to Adam and Eve in the Garde of Eden, He introduced us to his Son one night in a stable in Bethlehem and the Holy Spirit was introduced when a Dove descended upon Jesus at the Jordan River when John baptised him. Finally, on the night in which he was betrayed he told his disciples he would be leaving, but that the Holy Spirit would remain in all of us. Where might you have missed his introduction to the Holy Trinity? There is a great book which covers this in depth, it has been the all time number one seller for centuries and you can find it in most book stores, it is called "The Bible."

    • There are some Jewish texts older than the Jesus-era stuff that refute the idea of a "holy trinity".

The idea that there is a holy trinity and that those three things (God, Jesus, and "spirit") make up some ONE thing was decided by a committee.

    • I've never read a part of the Bible that says "Yeah, and like, the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit were all part of God and intertwined except we can't quite explain it"; most of the time references are to "The Father and the Son", not all three, and the word "trinity" never appears. (richirrich, look up a fellow by the name of Athanasius, and the Nicene creed.)

    • Have you ever heard of the Tri-une God? Tri meaning three as in Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

    • If you practice your faith you have learned or read more then just the Nicene Creed.

    • Cool, sure. So what is it in your faith that makes you believe in the Holy Trinity? And can it be traced to something that was actually said by the people you think of as prophets/the messiah, or a bunch of guys going "sure, that sounds alright, we'll make it so that that's a rule now"?

    • tri-une god (term I have never heard) refers to the holy trinity idea, vicki. that the higher power is divided into something called 'god', something called 'christ' and something called 'the holy spirit', and that they're all equal. there are some very basic ideas about it in the new testament, stuff that refutes it in old jewish docs, and it wasn't made into a system with rules/a doctrine you had to submit to, until this nicene creed.

    • All three parts of the trinity are God. God is the father. Jesus is God's son (God in human form). The holy spirit is Christ within us.

    • If the Spirit of God belongs to God, and Jesus says "I and my Father are one"; It well reasons that the Holy Spirit is also "One" with God the Father and Christ Jesus the son of God(whom was also called God.)

    • thus, trinity is your own CONCLUSION from the bible? trinity is not a direct doctrine of the Scripture, yet a conclusion.

    • Because the Trinity is written by man and not by God.
