Why is the word "Honky" not as offensive to white people as the word "Nigger" is to black people?

    I don't know about you, but I don't really like being called a honkey or cracker. they take more offense because the word was started as a racial slur in the days of slavery and unequal rights.

    • The word actually started as Negra Spanish for Black. it gained its present pronounciation because the Ignoant rednecks could not pronounce it correctly

    • Firebrand - you spelled ignorant wrong. Those must have been the Spanish that were selling the slaves to the colonists and the rest of the world. Actually, ignorant is using the word 'ax' when what you mean is 'ask.'
