Help answer this question below.

If asked, "What is your greatest flaw?" at a job interview, what would you say?

    This is a trap question. Usually we try to disguise a strength as a weakness...which everyone does so much that it is easy to see through. I once read that the best thing to do is let the interviewer know that you can think of nothing that would stand in the way of performing in the positions with excellence, then go over your best qualification. As in..

    "Nobody is perfect, but based on the qualification of this position, I would be an outstanding match. Most employers are looking for two things...the qualifications to do the job and the desire to be excellent. I have both, so I can see nothing that should bring concern about my ability or my desire to perform this job with excellence."

    • Actually, it's not necessarily a trap question. If you answer honestly, it shows that you are self-aware and you work on your weaknesses. I would not consider your answer as a good one if you were applying for a job at my company.

    • I would. I think that answer from shaneaproductions is terrific. That's just the point, 99% of the answers aren't honest.

      99% of answers to this question are thoughtless and generic. An answer like shane's cuts to the chase. Instead of just coming up with something, probably a cookie cutter "I work too hard" answer the interviewer has heard a million times, the answer shane gave shows intelligence, confidence and stands out from the rest. When they look at the final few people who interviewed you want to be someone that stands out from the rest of the sheep.
