I love lilacs too. My hometown is called the Lilac Capital of the World! Lilac festival, parade, Lilac Queen -- Lilacia Park with every kind of lilac bush you can imagine. Smells and looks beautiful. OK, now I'm homesick!

LOL! Rochester NY is also the lilac capitol. Every May there is a lilac festival and parade, and Highland park has thousands of different lilac bushes. The street lines are painted purple for the week of the fest.

That is hilarious! I guess there are several Lilac Capitols of the world!!
We never had purple lines on our streets, but the big water tower in the middle of town was painted purple; at one time the police cars were all purple (but they were razzed so much, they stopped that!)
