Moon has long been assumed as a satellite. The mass of
no other satellite in the solar system is larger
than a 10th of its host planet. After studying twin planet
systems around other stars, scientists have recognized
that moon is the twin planet of earth - the closest and
    most influential planet.

    • The moon is Earth's satellite defined by the barycenter of the Earth-Moon system lying beneath the surface of the Earth.
The moon's mass is not larger than a 1/10th of the Earth, it is less than 1/80th
      Moon's mass: 7.35e22 kg
      Earth's mass: 5.972e24 kg

    • can I give abbra a thumbs up?
the moon is recognized as having been blased off the mass of the earth by a interplanitary impact... but it is not a binary planet as pluto would have been were pluto a planet.
