Sort of. There are three major differences:

    1. If you post a question on a typical message board, you could receive many different answers. Which one do you trust? Who's right? On Answerbag, each answer can be rated, so reliable answers will filter to the top.

    2. On most message boards, your question will roll off the front page after a day or two, and your odds of being answered become very low. On Answerbag, we focus on your questions and getting them answered, and your question will remain right on the page where you posted it until it is answered. The answer will then remain there so others can learn from it and vote on it, helping you to know if that answer is reliable.

    3. Answerbag can automatically email you when a question is answered. When submitting a question, just check the "Notify me by email when an answer is submitted" box. If you want to be notified when someone else's question is answered, just click the link below that question.
