Help answer this question below.

I just purchased a 1989 corvette and while sitting at an idle for approx 5 minutes the temp rose from 185 to 230, is this normal and how high can the temp gp before it can cause dmamage?

    jdem006

    put a new thermostat in it sounds like it's sticking causing it to run too hot. Air probably cools it when moving. that likely will fix it although the radiator may need "rodded out".
