Help answer this question below.

I have a 2001 Ford F150 with 69,000 miles on it, last week the oil light came on, I heard rattling noise, then the engine died. I was told that the engine had locked up because my oil which was full was like black syrup. Can it be repaired or new engine?

    Geez, a 2001 with 69,000 miles blown up? What a load of bad luck! Sorry. Yeah probably you'll have to get a new or rebuilt engine. It would take money to determine what to do with this engine unless the damage is already obvious. I would probably opt for the new one rather than spend time and money diagnosing and rebuilding this one only to end up finding it had hidden damage that can't be repaired.
