Help answer this question below.

My 1991 Ford Explorer has push buttons for 4-wheel drive and Low range. But neither is activating when I push the buttons. Actually nothing happens. What could be wrong? Should it be in gear? What else could I check or do?

4x4 actuator located on the transmission is bad. call a local auto parts store for more info.
