Are cocker spaniels harder to house train than other breeds?

    the short answer is yes I had a cocker paid a lot of money for him and never did house break him I had to get rid of him they are really nice looking dogs but man are they dumb .

    • I won't down rate a person for an opinion, and clearly your's is based upon your personal experience. I will disagree with you, however for generalizing and making such a grossly unfair broadcast remark against all Cockers.

      I'll even agree that the breed has its share of challenges because of very shoddy breeding practices. Next time don't try to BREAK your dog, try TRAINING IT...Cockers ARE a sensitive breed, emotionally speaking. These days, the better quality Cockers come from the UK NOT the USA. Much like American GSD's and American Irish Setters, American Cockers have been royally screwed up. I would not own an American bred bloodline of ANY of these three breeds!
