What are some ways to get a playdate for a 12 month old without having to post an ad in the paper?

    Not answering your question, but you might find this useful: 12 mo. olds don't really need playdates, although their parents usually do. My friends and I all had our kids within a month of each other, and our kids have "played" together frequently over the last two and a half years. The surprising thing is though, that it has only been quite recently that they have started to interact. Until 21 mo. or so, they merely looked at each other, and played independently. Parallel play, I think the experts call it. So, don't feel pressured that your child is missing out at this point.
