Paying them money ie the least we can doAfter we took their land, their way of life, their women, their words, their religions, furced then on to bad land, and killed their people. I think we owe them a lot more then money.

    • I did not know when I was very young that I was but I always felt close to them and the culture. I was probably a teen before I knew. I have been drawn to anything that has to do with their life, culture, history...everything.

    • Even (or especially) in the old movies, the Indians where treated so cruelly. It actually disgusts me to see those movies now. The US or British settlers with guns battling Indians having only spears or arrows that are actually defending their homeland.

    • I dont think they are doin to bad. Since we took over they get to be treated as civialized people. They choose to use running water and live the modern day life style. They are lucky they are not like Africa is right now, cause thats where they were heading. I dont owe them anything and they dont owe me anything. I shouldnt have to pay for the past mistakes and they shouldnt reap the bennifits. Everyone should be equal, That is what doing better would be. Shouldnt matter where you come from or what color you are. No one should recieve government money based on race. We all live in the 21 century not the 13 or 14th.

    • you owe everything to the indigenous people. you continue to benefit from the theft of our lands and we continue to suffer from it. and to compare us to africa is wrong. again, no proof to back up the myths.

    • Were the different tribes not fighting before the white man showed up? For territory? For food? Was it just that the white mans tribe was stronger? Smarter? Are we all really so different? That's the way things were back then. All thats changed is the fighting. Alaska was bought fair and square from the oppressive Russian occupants. We pay Alaskan Natives who are of a certain percent native money, and give them free dental and free health care. Wheres my free shit? I don't think I'm benifiting from anything here especially from "theft". And yes, don't compare anyone to Africa. Don't compare anyone to anyone, it's promoting difference, thus promoting stereotype, thus promoting prejudice, thus promoting discrimination. As long as privillage exists, there will be hegemony and racism. I agree this is state sponsored raceism, and above is clear stated logic supporting my statement.
