Help answer this question below.
I have a pet tarantula, Miss Scarlet, who has escaped in my house. She is a Mexican red-knee. How do I find her? I have 3 cats. Will they kill her or will she hurt them if there paths cross?
Thanks!

Has anyone ever placed a motorized toy in their tarantula's enclosure? I got the dbl ferris wheel by K'nex & built the tilt-a-whirl option. i geared it down so that it would move slower but this increases torque. i've been careful about pinch points.

You're reading Has anyone owned a Rose Hair Tarantula? From personal experience was it a difficult animal to care for and maintain?

Thanks so much. Do you handle it ever?

I just read your Bio. You were quite the right person to answer.

They are a little vicious at times, but some are handlable. Some are not. I have handled two out of the 5 we had at the shop. Keeping yourself as interactive with them as you can will help, but you may get some hairs thrown at you at first! Giving the animal at least a week to get adjusted to the new surroundings helps too, but placing your hand in the tank and allowing the spider to check you out gives it more reassurance. Do be wary though, startling a new spider can be bad for both of you.
