The world's oldest surviving Rolls-Royce car drove into the record books yesterday when it was sold at auction for $8,253,280. Do you think it is worth it?

    No more or less so than other conspicuous luxuries, such as diamond jewelery or executive jets. In some ways antiques are a better way for the really wealth to spend their money that new stuff such as jets. No new resources are needed to build the car; the jet consumes new materials which can not be used for more worth purposes.

    • good thoughts. I must tell that to my husband next time he complains about my hoarding...LOL (no antique cars, but plenty of used toys to be given to kids in need)
